Refinancing is the thing to do these days (we’ve certainly done it ourselves!) and between the refinancing between banks, and then the banks selling your mortgage loan to another bank, mortgage clauses can get messed up. This can be a problem, especially if you escrow your homeowners insurance.
We’ve had a lot of cases of people’s homeowners insurance not getting paid because the insurance company sent the bill to the bank listed on your policy, but that may not be who holds your mortgage anymore. And we don’t get an alert when the insurance company doesn’t get paid and cancels your homeowners insurance.
Take a few minutes and check this information and give us a call or shoot us an email and we’ll double check that your insurance bills are going to the correct mortgage company.
